What is OLPC and why are you fundraising for it?

OLPC is just an abbreviation to the organizations name One Laptop per Child. One Laptop per Child is a non-profit organization that believes every child deserves an education. Their goal is the same as their title they want to give one laptop to every child in the world.
Many of you may be wondering, well whats a laptop going to do? The thing is though, it's not just a laptop, it's a technological tool for education and innovation.
So, why am I fundraising for it? Well, this fundraiser is actually my Senior Exhibition Project. Senior Project is a requirement for graduation in Toll Gate. You are allowed to pick any topic that interests you and will be a learning experience. Charity work, children, and education have always been interests that I wanted to learn more about so I decided that the product of my project would be a fundraiser and a donation amount of $1000.00. When I found out about One Laptop per Child last year I became fascinated with their idea of allowing people who need help, be capable of helping themselves. Their idea isn't just to give a material object so they may survive a little longer in the world. Their idea is to give someone the tools to help themselves and be able to make a difference in the world.
I believe that every child has the potential to make a difference.

Why did I make a blog?

Ok. So some of you may be wondering why I made a blog. It's just one fundraiser, not a big deal. Well, a lot of people have been asking my parents and me questions about this project and want answers!
